Galatians 5:1, “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.“
Jesus’ death on the cross is the path for true freedom. In order for a person to live a truly free life, they must do so in communion with God.
This is a rightly ordered life that allows for a person to act freely in accord with their desires, but it also ensures that their desires are rightly ordered.
Real freedom leads to service and love of others as an overflow of the love God showed us. True freedom comes not through seeking our own agendas but through denying ourselves and following after Jesus’ will.
What are we made for? We are created for communion with God. Our desires are rightly ordered when we seek first our enjoyment in God (Matt. 6:33).
