What Homosexuality Is

Homosexuality is a sin. Both Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 teaches that homosexual activity is an abomination, “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination” 18:22 & “If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them” (20:13). Additionally, Romans 1:26-27 teaches that homosexuality is a result of denying and disobeying God. When people continue in sin and unbelief, God “gives them over” to even more wicked and depraved sin in order to show them the futility and hopelessness of life apart from God. 1 Corinthians 6:9 proclaims that homosexual “offenders” will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Therefore, all homosexual practices are in contradiction to the will of God for humanity. Homosexuality is the sexual attraction toward a person of the same sex or the sexual relations between such persons. Every race and culture is affected by homosexuality. So why another paper on this issue? In a secular worldview, everyone has their own opinion about Homosexuality and whoever disagrees with that opinion, is either judgmental, insensitive, or outright wrong!

But there is a standard to what is right and wrong, from a Biblical worldview all homosexual behaviour is condemned. God created man, in specific order, for the purpose of fulfilling a complementarisim, and a mutual dependence that reflect His divine image, therefore God created a man and a woman to be “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth” (Genesis 1:28). For this reason, homosexuality must affirm that the male gender by itself, or the female gender by itself, is an adequate representation of the divine image[1] in Genesis 1:26.

However, Homosexuality claims that the sexual differences arising from Creation are not foundational and can be bypassed or over looked at, which is rebellion against the Creator. It goes against God because it violates the created order, as it fails to represent the divine image, and the purposed created order of marriage between one natural-born man and one natural-born woman.
